Posting to my blog has already turned into a chore.
What do I say that hasn’ t been said before? What do I write about that will bring value to the alredy pretty full 2.0 discussion?
Right – RSS feeds.
I’ve been using Feed Reader on and off for a couple of years now. There are a lot of feeds out there that I cna subscribe to. The ones that I found most interesting to read are the job postings on MBLC and the updates to the TechSoup forums.
It is so hard to keep on top of news coming into your RSS reader! The way we have comunicated here at work and continue to do so is via email.
I get about 100 messages in just a few days. Having to read through that much email AND follow up on RSS is just way to much!

In the US the movie is known as “Wings of Desire”. They even re-made in in “City of Angels” which turned out to be a complete mockery of everything “Der Himmel über Berlin” stood for.
In the original movie the angels congregated in Berlin State Library or Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin.
The picture here is of a part of the Berlin University library but it has the same curved balconies and vast spaces that have remained with me from the movie.
Would’t it be great if there were angels whispering in these students’ ears while there are reading?
And … here I am again at my desk.
Just came back from a conference for PL Consortia using III (our ILS vendor)
Had a great time networking with colleagues from all over the States who face similar challenges using the same system environment.
I wish the sales pitches were less and there were more sessions on “How do we overcome this particular obstacle” but overall it was a good experience.
So… I didn’t have any problems logging into Delicious or exploring Technorati.
I have used Delicious before and you can set up an account there without signing up with your email address which I did at the time … what a big mistake that was!
Yes, you guessed it – soon enough I forgot my password and could not retrieve it in any way.
The moral of the story – use an email account when registering for services like that even if you have to create a “dummy” account for your second life persona.
